Mayan Zone, your local agency based in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Mayan Zone was born from a deep attachment to Guatemala and this still mysterious Central America, where active volcanoes stand alongside high-altitude lakes, tropical forests and Mayan sites, all enriched by a warmth-hearted population.
The adventure began in 1998, when Jean-François left Belgium to settle in Guatemala, a country he first explored by mountain bike along remote trails. From this journey emerged an English-speaking inbound agency, based in Guatemala City, specializing in private and tailor-made trips throughout Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras. Over the years, the team has built lasting relationships with local communities, NGOs, women's cooperatives, and artisan groups, through a genuine commitment to responsible tourism.
Today, around Jean-François, Perrine, Gwladys, Ada, Alexis and Emmanuelle make up a team of passionate professionals. English-speaking guides, local guides, drivers, rural communities and host families work hand in hand to support every traveler, with the same commitment: listen, understand, adjust.
Here, we don't reproduce programs. We craft journeys that reflect who you are.
Mayan Zone is a member of the Nomadays collective. This partnership allows you to benefit from direct coordination with a local team based in Guatemala City, while enjoying secure booking in France: payment in euros, protection of deposited funds, APST guarantee and compliance with French travel law. You thus enjoy the best of both worlds: the proximity of an on-the-ground team and the strength of a protective legal framework.
I love seeking out paths that aren't yet in standard itineraries. That's often where Guatemala reveals its most beautiful surprises.
— Jean-François, Trail Blazer of Maya Paths
